WIT Press has just published the proceedings of the Tenth International Conference on Modelling, Monitoring and Management of Water Pollution, held in Bucharest Romania and organized by the University Politehnica of Bucharest and the Wessex Institute of Technology of the UK. The book, entitled Water Pollution X, contains most of the papers presented at the Conference, which was first held in 1991.
Since that time the Conference has provided an interdisciplinary forum for international researchers for discussion and dissemination of papers related to water quality and environmental problems caused by the increase of pollutant loads or by bad management of water resources. The increased worldwide demand for water for community, industrial, and agricultural use makes these issues of growing importance. The future development of many countries will depend decisively upon how the increasing demand for water will be satisfied, and how the economic and environmental cost for that demand may be met.
The book will be of interest to environmental and water resources engineers, scientists, and managers in government, industry, and academia who are involved with water pollution and water quality issues.
Individual papers from WIT Press proceedings are available via the WIT e-library. Papers from Water Pollution X may be found at
